Week 5

Hola todas personas
The MTC is still mighty fine and everything is going quite swell.  Elder Holland came and talked to us this last
Tuesday.  It was AWESOME!  He's so amazing.  Holy Cow.
He is really a lover of missionary work.
It means everything to him and he gives such a powerful testimony of
it.  It was a really good meeting.
So our really awesome zone leaders left today at 3:00 a.m. and so they called
new ones yesterday.  Guess who they
were?  Yup, my companion and I.  So I now have the privilege to help out my
zone and influence many people via the missionaries here.  It's a lot of responsibility, but it'll help
me a lot.  I'm excited to learn and grow
more.  Just when I thought I could handle
all this, BAM.  But it's good.
Sorry about the results of last Saturdays game :(  It's fine though right? No not really, there
are a lot of big Ute fans in my zone, so it was a little annoying.  It's fine though, cuz the church is still
true.  God's real army is still going
strong ;)
There's really not a whole lot of exactingness to report, the MTC is pretty
similar every day.  It goes by quite
fast.  I've already hit one month, I have
only have 23 Months left!  Yikes, there's
a ton to do, and only 23 months to do it in.
But the language is going well.
We teach in Spanish at the Teaching Resource Center (TRC, where
volunteers act as investigators and we teach to them) this week, and we've been
practicing a lot for that.  We can
actually do it pretty well, my companion and me.   It's by no means perfect, but it's
doable.
Since its Christmas season (almost, not techniqually till after thanksgiving)
the Joy to the World DVD's are being advertized on TV, so the phones are off
the hooks at the Referral Center.  We
were in there, and as soon as we put the phone down it would ring again.  Most of the people calling for the DVD's were
from the south, they had awesome "Drawls".  It was hilarious.
Also in the RC I chatted with a member who was struggling with her
testimony.  I was really fortunate because
just a couple nights before I really felt the spirit in a prayer, and was able
to share that experience with her, and explain better what needs to happen for
the spirit to witness to you.  She said
she would read Alma 32 and pray about it.
She was supposed to get on chat with me again 2 days later, but she
didn't.  Hopefully she felt
something.  But I've learned a lot about
desire and prayer here.  Prayer is
extremely important, and I'm learning how to be a lot better at it and make
them more meaningful, it's awesome.
For all of those of you who know about the movie "The District," we
got to here from one of the sister missionaries in that movie, sis. -, in our
fireside last night.  It was so
cool.  The movie is a missionary reality
TV show thing that they used to train us when we first got here.  It was filmed in my mission!  So cool.
So I've got to see what it's like there.
They even had all the San Antonio missionaries stand up during the
fireside, it was only my district.  It
was awesome, I felt important knowing I'm going to the best mission ever.
Thanks for all your letters and advice.
I know the church is true, and that God answers prayers through the Holy
Ghost.
Good luck on the home front,

Elder
