Week 4

Buenos Dias!

Spanish is coming along mighty fine for all who are wondering.  My district was actually part of an experiment, where they made us learn off a computer program for our first 2ish weeks.  They have these handy dandy books that have everything you need to know to teach in Spanish, but they didn't give em to us till after the experiment.  The new district that just came got there's the first day!  No fair!  It's fine though, the computer did help, and the experiment will hopefully benefit many future missionaries.

I had an excellent chat Saturday with woman from Frankfurt, Germany.  She accepts to have missionaries come over, and that she would go to church.  She and I both felt the spirit, and she told me so.  It was really great. It last an hour and 40 minutes.  HOLY COW!  So ya, it was intense, but really great.  I feel so excited for her if she will keep her commitment.  Apparently she gets on a lot, so hopefully I'll hear about her progress.

I heard a really great talk last night.  It was a recording of Elder Oaks speaking at the MTC and it was called "The Desires of our Hearts."  It really impacted me a whole lot and spoke to my soul.  That talk addressed the main concerns of my heart.  It was such a miracle to hear it.

This week marks my MTC half way point, pretty exciting.  It's going pretty fast.  My companion is doing an excellent job as district leader and my district is continuing to grow in spirit, as we turn into missionaries.

Thanks for all the letters and for keeping me up to date.  If you all would send me your home addresses I'll be able to write you more effectively on paper, because we don't get much time on these.  But please keep the e-mails and everything coming.

I know the church is true and that Jesus Christ is our Savior.  There is nothing we can't do without God's help.  I love this experience and I wish you all the best of luck.
