Wow!
So I only have 11 minutes and 15 seconds to write this, but I will try my best. The MTC is still great and I'm thankful to everyone who has e-mailed/written me. I've had some questions about the chat-proselytizing, so I'll tell you about it.
Once a week, and whenever we have MDT (missionary directed time) we can go to the Referral Center (RC). In there I log on, and if anyone goes to Mormon.org and wants to ask questions on the internet it comes to us. Lots of times I just have to wait around in there and study cuz no one is asking questions, but other times it can get intense in there. We also can get calls too. I haven't really done one, but some guys in my district have. One guy called us like 6 times ranting and raving about Prop. 8. Lots of questions have been about that as I'm sure you can imagine. I would recommend reading the article in the Newsroom of lds.org with elder Oaks, and the Public Affairs people. It describes it very well. But I have had like 3 for real, good chats so far, where I've answered people's sincere questions, and have challenged them to do things. I even set up a return appointment with one guy, but he didn't get on.
So my district has undergone some changes. We originally had 10 elders, but this week we'll be down to 6. The 1st week one elder got moved up to an intermediate district cuz of his Spanish skills. 2 elders are going to the Dominican Republic MTC on Thursday. One Elder actually went home today unfortunately. He is 21 and had a 29 year old girlfriend back home who had an 8 year old kid! He went back cuz he was basically ready to get married and doesn't want to miss out on that kid’s life. LAME! He was pretty set on leaving and talked with the Branch Pres. a lot so that's what he did. We're sad about it, but it'll be alright. I feel bad for him mostly, cuz of what he's going to miss out on.
The spirit here is awesome. I've been reading Jesus the Christ and it is SO good. I'm learning so much from that, I can't believe I waited this long to read that. But I have lots of reading time to do it now. We got to watch the Testaments last night after our fireside and it was great. I've never enjoyed that movie so much.
K well good luck at home, be good, and avoid Universal Health care! ha ha. Ya, I’m glad I’m here and not dealing with politics, it's kind of nice really. Until I get booted off to Texas where I’ll suddenly be answering all kinds of prop. 8 questions. Lucky me. Elder - is going to San Diego, so we like to remind him of that. ha ha. Oh, my companion got made district leader cuz our current one is going to the DR MTC. That's exciting; I’m now his unofficial councilor. Thanks for the letters again, and keep writing and sending packages. It's great to get those. Good luck
